The National Curriculum is based on three (3) broad major strands called NUMBER, SPACE & MEASUREMENT. These are then divided into the 19 sub-strands listed above.

Once again, this book closely follows the latest NSW and National Curriculum recommendations. At the end of each sub-strand there is a detailed assessment summary of what students should be able to understand by the end of that particular sub-strand, as well as three exercises which are graded from Easy through to More Difficult with all solutions given. Throughout each strand there are numerous examples and activities relating to problem solving but in addition a separate chapter has been added which explains in detail the most common strategies involved in problem solving for this age group.

Note: This is also an excellent resource book for parents, because it will provide them with an important overview of the complete curriculum. In addition, it will show them those sub-strands where extra work is required.
