National Geographic Model Kits (Kids): Kaleidoscope

Wondersaurus says:

We love National Geographic Model Kits (Kids): Kaleidoscope for its enchanting blend of optics and hands-on creativity, turning the science of light and reflection into a dazzling DIY project. Building the colorful tube piece by piece and then peering through to watch shards of color shift and bloom into endless symmetric patterns makes the magic of mirrors feel wonderfully tangible. It’s the kind of build that makes children aged 8+ feel like young optical engineers and artists at once, discovering how reflection turns a handful of shiny bits into infinite beauty.

Description:

First, kids assemble the mirrored prism and tube, drop in a mix of colorful beads and shapes, and twist to set the pattern dancing. Every turn produces a brand-new, never-repeating design a perfect reward of pure wonder for careful building. Along the way they learn how angled mirrors multiply a single image into a full, radiant circle, turning curiosity about “how does it do that?” into a genuinely satisfying answer. With step-by-step illustrated instructions, quality materials, and a durable, reusable design, the National Geographic Kaleidoscope is a captivating STEM project that makes science glow, twirl, and shimmer a treasure for any curious mind.
