How Things Work: Vaccum Cleaner

Wondersaurus says:

We love How Things Work: Vacuum Cleaner for its clever blend of physics and everyday discovery, turning the science behind a household essential into a hands-on STEM build. Watching kids assemble a fully working mini vacuum and then switch it on to suck up tiny bits of fluff and paper makes the invisible power of air pressure gloriously visible no magic, just suction, air, and understanding. It’s the kind of build that makes children aged 8+ feel like real appliance engineers cracking the mystery of how their own home’s vacuum does its job.

Description:

First, young builders piece together the internal fan-and-motor housing, then snap on the collection chamber and nozzle to complete the mechanism. Flip the switch and the spinning fan creates a rush of moving air that pulls debris right into the container a satisfying, instant demonstration of low pressure and airflow at work. Kids can test how different nozzle sizes change the suction, experiment with what gets picked up and what doesn’t, and even empty the chamber to reset for the next round. With step-by-step illustrated instructions and a durable, reusable design, the Vacuum Cleaner transforms a familiar household chore into a rewarding lesson in how things really work perfect for curious tinkerers who love taking the ordinary and figuring out the extraordinary inside.
