How Things Work: Launcher Parachute

Wondersaurus says:

We love How Things Work: Launcher Parachute for its thrilling blend of aerodynamics and action, turning the science of air resistance into a hands-on STEM adventure. Load the parachute into the spring-loaded launcher, fire it high into the air, and watch it pop open as it floats gently back down a spectacular, crash-free lesson in drag, gravity, and terminal velocity that never stops being exciting. It’s the kind of build that makes children aged 8+ feel like real aerospace engineers testing how shapes and materials slow a falling object.

Description:

First, young builders construct the sturdy launcher base and assemble the canopy, lines, and payload before taking it outside for the big test. Pull, release, and the chute launches skyward, unfurling into a slow, graceful descent that kids can chase and recover again and again. They’ll quickly learn that physics is at play with every toss why the canopy opens, how the air catches it, and what happens when you fold it differently or add a little weight. With step-by-step illustrated instructions and a durable, reusable design, the Launcher Parachute brings the thrill of propulsion and the calm of a gentle landing together a fantastic pick for curious minds who love watching science take to the sky.
