Brackish

Brackish is a poignant poetry collection that explores the complexities of Black girlhood lived between two worldsurban North and rural South. Through lyrical storytelling, Bonnie Greaves captures the in-between spaces of identity, belonging, and memory, much like the brackish waters where salt meets fresh. These poems trace the emotional currents of migration, family, and self-discovery, offering a vivid reflection on what it means to grow up straddling cultures, geographies, and expectations. This is a powerful tribute to heritage, transformation, and the enduring beauty found in contradiction.
